I want to invite you to become a partner with us in our “Bibles for Cops” project.
You can make a huge impact for Christ by joining with your fellow FCPO supporters in making a special gift. We want to distribute as many copies of the American Bible Society’s Strength for the Street Bible to law enforcement officers across the nation as funding allows.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 between now and January 15th. Every $15 raised will put one of these life-changing Bibles into the hands of a police officer in the United States.
As you consider our $20,000 challenge, please pray about a gift of $180 to buy a case of 12 Bibles, $360 to buy two cases, $900 to buy five cases, $1500 to buy 100 Bibles, or $3000 to buy 200 Bibles!
Meeting our goal by January 15th will ensure that FCPO not only ends 2019 well but will send us into 2020 without slowing down! Part of our mission statement says “. . . FCPO creates a Christian mindset in Peace Officers using Biblical truths . . .” If we are not using Biblical truths to operate by every day, we must ask ourselves whose truth are we using? Your gift will put this Biblical truth in the hands of Law Enforcement Officers across the country.
Four months ago, God used a group of Law Enforcement spouses from across the country, united by their Facebook page and marriage to Law Enforcement Officers, to reach out to us. Their request was simple... could we send them a Strength for the Street Bible so they could give it to their husbands? This was an answer to prayer because, as an organization, we had been praying asking God how we could better connect with the spouses of our Law Enforcement Officers.
With no funding available for this project and sincere prayer, we took a leap of faith and began answering the requests one Bible at a time. At the time of this writing, the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers has provided over 1,700 Strength for the Street Bibles to both spouses and cops. God has provided the $25,500 needed thus far.
We do not see this project ending or even slowing down. What we do see is its continued rapid growth and that is why we are asking you to partner with us. God is doing some miraculous things in law enforcement and we are so excited to be a small part of what He is doing. We want you to be a part of what God is doing, too! He sees your gift and knows your heart!
I have received dozens of phone calls and emails thanking us for sending a Bible. The officers receiving them are so excited they are taking their Bibles to work and showing them to their colleagues who are also requesting one! Some spouses have requested a Bible because their marriage was troubled only to have their cop spouse break down in tears and apologies when presented this wonderful gift. Some cops have received a Bible anonymously and have called the office to see who sent it or how to pay for it only to find it was obviously a gift from someone who loved them. These cops have gone on to spread the word to others generating more orders. Did I mention that our FCPO membership is growing and even more ministry opportunities are opening up because of this project? Wow, we certainly do serve a mighty God!
