Please Remember Ruth Wolf in Prayer

January 14th, 2020

We received sad news today from former FCPO-USA Executive Director Grant Wolf, concerning his wife Ruth. He writes:

"After six trips to the ER, three hospital stays, multiple visits to Ruth's primary care doctor, and three CT scans, the mystery of her pain is solved. It appears that her colon cancer/resectioning of 22 years ago has resurfaced with a vengeance and spread throughout her body, including her bones. The earliest CT (last Sept.) did not show what the latest does, which indicates the cancer is growing rapidly. The oncologist said life expectancy ranges from a few days to a few weeks. In addition the latest tests indicated that several ribs on her right side had been fractured recently, of which we had no previous knowledge.

"After discussion with him and hospital physicians we made the decision to call in Hospice. Since our grandson Jeremy and I have been attending to her needs around-the-clock for several weeks, we've decided to bring her home to be where it's more comfortable for each of us. She still is in a great deal of pain today, but the physicians are adjusting her medications to remove as much of the pain as possible.

"For what is probably her last car ride, our old friend Sheriff Hammond will be bringing her home - a treat she especially enjoys.

"Thank you so much for your prayers, meals, and good wishes. They mean so much to us.

"Ruth and I met 70 years ago at her aunt and uncle's large family restaurant, where I became organist shortly after my 15th birthday. We began dating in the fall of 1950 and married on June 6, 1954. With her passing I lose not only my wife of 65+ years but the living proof of all my activities these past seven decades. During those years we've lived in 10 states, purchased 9 houses, raised two children, and had all the ups and downs expected in a long-lived marriage. I'd hoped we would have another 10 years together, but it appears that will not be the case. One might say we'd had a long run, but it's ending all too soon."

As many of you know, Grant served faithfully as Executive Director of this ministry for many years.

Please pray for God's peace and comfort for Ruth at this time, as well as for Grant, Jeremy, and the rest of the family.
