Former FCPO-USA President Bob Vernon Passes Away

Retired LAPD Assistant Chief and Pointman Founder

Robert L. "Bob" Vernon, former FCPO-USA National President, passed away on October 19 after an extended illness. His wife, Esther, preceded him in death on September 2. Both were devoted followers of Christ who faithfully served Him for many years.


A retired Assistant Chief of Police of Los Angeles, the son of a cop and the grandfather of four cops, Bob Vernon served 38 years with the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department). He was also the founder of the Pointman Leadership Institute, an institution offering leadership training to officers in over 75 countries around the world.


Bob contributed significantly to the ministry of FCPO in the 1990s, serving on the FCPO-USA National Board of Directors in several capacities, including serving as National President.


A memorial service honoring both Bob and Esther Vernon was held on November 16 at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA. The full service is available for viewing on YouTube by clicking here.
