CHAPTER PURPOSE & GOALS
Faith in action at the local level.
At the heart of every thriving ministry is a community of people growing together in faith, and FCPO-USA local chapters are designed to be exactly that. As grassroots extensions of our national mission, chapters bring officers together to strengthen their relationship with Christ, support one another through life's challenges, and encourage faithful service both in uniform and beyond.
Local chapters serve as places where spiritual growth becomes practical and where faith is lived out in everyday life. By bringing officers together at the local level, chapters create opportunities to strengthen faith, develop spiritual leaders and disciple makers, and build a network of believers who encourage one another through the unique demands of the profession.
The core purposes and goals of a local chapter are:
Fellowship
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV
Fellowship is a cornerstone of FCPO-USA membership, offering Christian officers a vital source of encouragement and support. Through local chapters, personal relationships, and our online community, members find a welcoming environment where they can grow in faith alongside fellow believers who understand the unique challenges of law enforcement. Whether gathering for a luncheon with a guest speaker, a family picnic, or a sporting event, these moments of connection strengthen our Christian walk and provide much-needed encouragement in a demanding and often isolating profession.
Recognizing the importance of strong families, FCPO also encourages chapters to involve spouses and children whenever possible. Positive Christian fellowship builds up marriages and nurtures family bonds, creating a firm foundation both at home and in service. Whether through group events or simply walking alongside one another in everyday life, FCPO members are uniquely positioned to be a transformative influence within the law enforcement community. As we work, pray, and grow together, we deepen our own spiritual journeys, sharpen one another through accountability, and become more effective witnesses for Christ—both on and off duty.
Biblical Training
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 3:18 ESV
In law enforcement, training isn’t optional—it’s essential. Officers constantly sharpen their skills to stay ready for the challenges they face. We believe spiritual growth requires the same commitment. Officers face intense pressures both on the job and at home, and daily time in God's Word provides the strength and wisdom they need to lead with integrity. Through our Bibles for Cops project, each member receives the FCPO Edition Thin Blue Line Filament Bible, complete with The One Year Bible reading plan, helping them stay grounded in Scripture every day. As funding allows, we also make these Bibles available to non-member officers across the nation, planting seeds of hope and faith throughout the law enforcement community.
Through local chapters, regular Bible studies, and our
Faith Training Officer (FTO)
program—a series of discipleship resources developed in partnership with the Christian Business Men’s Connection—members are challenged to deepen their walk with Christ and disciple others. Whether connecting one-on-one or in small groups, officers are equipped to overcome life's challenges, live out their faith boldly, and make a lasting impact in their families, agencies, and communities. Our goal is simple but powerful: to help officers become spiritual reproducers, multiplying the hope and love of Christ across the law enforcement community.
Evangelistic Outreach
“And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." - Mark 16:15 ESV
FCPO encourages members to engage in evangelistic outreach both among fellow officers and in their communities, often finding that serving as Christ’s ambassadors brings unexpected blessings. To help them share their faith confidently, FCPO-USA offers Heaven Cards—a powerful, credit card-sized resource with thought-provoking questions and a QR code linking to a salvation video. Through a partnership with TheHeavenGuy.org, this simple yet impactful tool will help officers initiate meaningful spiritual conversations and guide others toward a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Beyond individual evangelism, FCPO chapters demonstrate God's love by taking their faith into their communities. Whether shooting hoops with inner-city youth, praying with residents in low-income housing, or simply offering kindness to those in need, members serve as living examples of Christ’s compassion. These everyday interactions create opportunities to build trust, open doors for the gospel, and create a lasting impact—both within law enforcement and in the communities they protect.
Service
“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." - John 13:35 ESV
The Christian life is one of service to others, and Jesus Christ set the perfect example. One of the ways FCPO chapters follow His example is through service projects benefiting the poor, hungry, needy, disabled, or the community as a whole. While individual projects will vary greatly from chapter to chapter, depending on the needs of the individual communities and chapter resources, each is designed to minister to others in Jesus' name, meeting physical and spiritual needs.
FCPO service projects take many forms, such as visiting an injured or retired officer, building a handicapped ramp for a disabled officer, providing a meal for a needy or homeless person, cleaning a neglected memorial monument, or delivering Christmas presents to a child who would have none otherwise. Through these and other efforts, FCPO chapters demonstrate the love of Christ in a tangible way to those in need around them, making a lasting impact in their communities.
